“Heirs OF Ashes”

The book review for today is “Heir of Ashes( The Roxanne Fosch Files Book 1) by Jina. S. Bazzar. This falls in the genre of science fiction and supernatural.

Meet our main character, Roxanne, a young woman who was being held at the Paranormal Scientists Society. Her abilities they want to understand and exploit.

But she manages to escape and is on the run for her life. The PSS will stop at nothing to get her back. She is able to allude her captures for a year living outside everyone’s eye, never staying in one place to long and always wondering if this is the day they find her.

She trusts no one and changes her name. However, the PSS aren’t the only ones trying to find her. Some are like her- preternatural and dangerous. Scientists feel Roxanne is one of the most dangerous creatures they have ever seen. What kind of powers? Even this young woman does not know all that she is capable of doing.

She needs to find the truth. Her history is foggy at best and without knowing her past she is at a huge disadvantage.

My thoughts:

I really enjoyed this read. The complexity of the characters and scenes were well crafted.

The story line for this genre is not easy as you are creating new species. Jina does a great job of describing things that are different to our comprehension.

I was really curious to know how this would end and was pleasantly surprised that I had figured it out wrong. To me that is a win. When one knows how a book is going to end to me that is a little disappointing.

The pace was great as well as the dialogue.

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
