The short story for review is “Beth’s Style Change” by Chris Jean Clarke.

Beth, our main character, has a problem. She’s a redhead. A topic that gets her teased on from the kids in her class. She hates it. Why did she have to be a carrot top?

Overhearing that Mike, a boy she likes, likes blondes and brunette she hatches a plan. It’s so simple actually. That is until she makes it worse. Beth learns as the story goes that not everything she knows and hears are always what they seem.

This is a very short story but a delightful and quick read. It brings up the tough growing years of preteens wanting to fit in.
