“Softly and Tenderly” by Sara Evans

The book for review is “Softly and Tenderly” by Sara Evans

This book is about a couple named Jade and Max who are happily married even with the ups and downs of marriage. That all changes when Jade finds out Max had a one night stand with his ex-fiancée Rice a week before he was to marry Jade. To make matters worse, Rice becomes pregnant and chooses to raise the child alone on her own. It seems everyone knows about this child but Jade who only finds out when Rice dies unexpectedly.

To make matters worse Jade’s wayward mother Beryl is dying and wants to go back home to die in peace. Struggling to keep her two businesses above water, dealing with her mother and now her mother in law June who is dealing with her own husband who is cheating as well takes a toil. Like father like son?

Jade has issues of her own, while trying to become pregnant with Max, little does he know she had an abortion years ago when she was younger.

Jade decides to take her mother back home to Iowa at her request and June tags along. Each hoping to settle inside themselves their own individual demons

I read this book in one day, I could not put it down. Curiosity made me keep on turning the pages to read what was on the other side. An uplifting spiritual book that is lightly spread throughout in just the right amount.

I received this book for free from Booksneeze in exchange for two reviews.
