The book for review is “ The Lovely Bones” by Alice Sebold
This book is about a 14 year old girl who is murdered by a man in the neighborhood. She is able to see her family ,from heaven, as they handle the grief associated with such a tragedy. The story line involves the robbing of innocence to a family dealing with the sorrows of what has been taken from them. The family is determine to bring her killer to justice even if it means without the help of the police. Throughout the book the years go by but the family is never really the same as they continue to cope with their lost.
This is not a book I would pick up normally to read- I would have been wrong if I hadn’t. I could not put it down. It was well written and made you feel a range of emotions, even if that meant crying.
