“Same Life, New Story” by Jan Silvious

I received ” Same Life, New Story” by Jan Silvious. I received this book for free in exchange for 2 reviews.

The book is a ten week bible study program. In it, the author talks about changing your viewpoint on your own life story. Our lives is a book, a story to tell , to be told by us and read by others. It mentions how we tend to be stuck in a story like setting in our lives. Some people stay in this funk, never venturing outside the box, never making the move to change our lives or our stories so to speak. The author mentions 10 women from the bible and how their lives and circumstances may be bleak from our standpoint. But instead of accepting what was given to them, they made changes in their lives and families as well. Instead of just going with the flow, they made the effort to change.  Thus changing their life stories. There are questions at the back of each chapter that help us to reflect from the content where we stand as women at this point. Are we standing still or are we writing our life stories?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.  Normally when I get a free book from the program I pass it on.  This one will be a treasure in my bookcase for years to come. The points are dead on, logical and makes you really think about yourself to a depth that you may never have gone before. Bravo, well written .
